What is a gap Year?

A gap year is a period of time, often a year or two, taken between high school and college where individuals engage in activities like work, volunteering, travel, or other experiences to gain perspective and skills outside of the traditional academic setting. It’s a chance to figure out where your interests and strengths are and what career might be a good fit for you in the future.

What is the SLCC Gap Year Workshop?

At the FREE Gap Year Workshop SLCC staff will work with you to identify gap year activities that are a good match for your unique strengths and interests. You’ll learn how to plan out that gap year so that no experience, good or bad, is wasted. You’ll also meet other gappers your age that you can bounce ideas off of.
