Stop Hazing at SLCC
Salt Lake Community College is committed to fostering a safe, welcoming, and inclusive campus community. Hazing of any kind is strictly prohibited. If you or someone you know has experienced or witnessed hazing, we encourage you to report it and seek support.
What is Hazing?
Hazing is any intentional, knowing, or reckless act committed by a person, against another person, done for the purpose of initiation, admission into, affiliation with, holding office in, or as a condition of continued membership in any organization at the College, and meets one of the following conditions:

- Endangers the mental or physical health or safety of the individual;
- Involves any brutality of a physical nature such as whipping, beating, branding, bruising, placing of a harmful substance on the body, or exposure to the elements;
- Involves consumption of any food, alcoholic product, drug, or other substance or any other physical activity that endangers the mental or physical health and safety of an individual; or
- Involves any activity that would subject the individual to extreme mental stress, such as sleep deprivation, extended isolation from social contact, or conduct that subjects another to extreme embarrassment, shame, or humiliation.

How to Report Hazing
