Transfer Degrees & Emphases
The ELWS department currently has two associate’s degree (or emphasis) programs that transfer to four-year bachelor’s degree programs in colleges/universities across Utah. Read below for the requirements. Contact the ELWS department for more information.The English Studies AS degree prepares SLCC students for transfer to English bachelor’s degree programs at the University of Utah and Weber State University with many courses transferring to other state institutions as well.

University of Utah Writing Studies Scholars Program
Writing Studies Scholars is a community for SLCC students who major, minor, or pursue a certificate in Writing & Rhetoric Studies. The University of Utah provides multiple opportunities for students who transfer into their program.
Writing & Rhetoric Studies Minor
SLCC transfer students with a different major can earn a minor in the University of Utah Writing & Rhetoric Studies program. SLCC students can transfer up to 9 credits (3 courses) from the following courses to apply to the minor.
