Student Responsibilities

Apply to ADS

Accessibility & Disability Services provides reasonable accommodations for your disability, but you’re responsible for disclosing your disability and providing appropriate documentation to receive accommodations.

You are also responsible for meeting expectations in your courses, and seeking the services you may need from other departments, such as Academic Advising, the Learning Center, the library, etc.

Once approved for accommodations:

  • Submit your first Semester Request *
  • Discuss your accommodations with your Accessibility Advisor throughout the semester to make sure they are effective and providing adequate support for your classes. As a student in higher education, you are responsible for your accommodation(s) and will need to follow up with your instructor to ensure your needs are met. However, we are here to support and advocate for your needs so please reach out if you need support!
  • When you enroll for the following semester, submit another semester request as soon as possible to ensure accommodations are in place for your following semester.

*You must submit a Semester Request for every semester you need the approved accommodations, even if the accommodations are the same.

Contact your Accessibility Advisor if changes occur, you experience problems, or if your accommodations are not met or interrupted without notice from our office.
