Volunteer
Many of the CWC’s programs are supported by volunteers. Salt Lake area adults are encouraged to volunteer their time with the CWC.
Have you considered mentoring a writing group or do you simply want to help the CWC any way you can? We have a number of opportunities for you to help—from one-day events to bi-monthly writing group sessions, there is something for everyone.
Here are a few of our opportunities:
- Workshop volunteers: come assist us with one our seasonal workshops! If you’re interested in researching, teaching, or learning about writing then this is the one for you!
- Outreach volunteering: know some communities that might benefit from a partnership with us? Then outreaching might be a position for you. This volunteering position involves finding groups and communities for the CWC to potentially partner up with.
- Creative content volunteer: The center always needs creative content as examples or to show off or even share. If you think you could contribute to the center then let us know!
- Publications volunteer: the center has several publications that you could help us with. We could use volunteers as proof readers, assistant editors, and much more. You’ll be working with our publications person in the center as well.
- Events and more: we participate in events and can always use volunteers during those times. We also have many more programs within the center.
If you are interested in becoming a CWC Volunteer, please attend an upcoming Volunteer Orientation and contact the CWC Director at tiffany.rousculp@slcc.edu.
