What Is DegreeWorks?
DegreeWorks is Salt Lake Community College's degree audit system. It helps you track your academic progress by showing:
- Which degree requirements you've already completed, and
- Which courses you still need to finish in order to graduate from your chosen program.
Your Program of Study and Catalog Year
Your Program of Study (also called your major) is selected when you are admitted to SLCC. You can update it at any time by submitting a Change of Major form. Click here for more information on changing your major.
Each program's requirements are based on two things:
- Your Program of Study, and
- The catalog year in which you declare that program.
Although program requirements may change from year to year, once your program and catalog year are set, SLCC guarantees that:
- The required courses for that program and catalog year will be available, and
- You can graduate under those requirements.
Creating a Graduation Plan
DegreeWorks allows you to build a semester by semester plan to map out your path to graduation.
You can:
- Start with a recommended program template,
- Adjust courses to fit your schedule, and
- Create a personalized plan that keeps you on track to complete your program in the suggested timeframe.
Having a plan helps you clearly see your path to graduation and make informed decisions about future semesters.
