Medical Coding Core
The Medical Coding Core for the Health Care Professional Certificate prepares students to become a nationally certified medical coder. The program will cover ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS courses in preparation for the AAPC and/or AHIMA national certification exams.

Course/Program Delivery Model
At the SLCC West Valley campus, students will participate in an in-person instructor lead program. The program will begin January 9, 2024 and run through October 9, 2024. Class will be held Tuesday - Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Students are expected to invest a minimum of 9 hours per week in-person on coursework. To be successful in this program, students may find they need to spend 20 or 30 hours per week to keep on track.
