This 11-hour course meets for two consecutive days for training and examination. At the end of the course students will be able to detect and correct pool problems including contamination, filtration, disinfection, water balance and heating or air conditioning problems; calculate the amount of chemicals needed to adjust pool contamination or imbalance; and take and pass the Utah Certified Registered Pool Operator exam.

Participants must pass the examination given at the end of the training to receive a micro-credential, which is not a license. If the county your facility is in requires a pool operator license, the micro-credential from SLCC verifies you have completed the training as required by Utah State code R392-302. You must show your micro-credential at the county health department to obtain your license. The micro-credential and license are valid for five years. Participants who fail the exam can attend one future course free of charge and take the exam again.

Operators are strongly encouraged to attend the LIVE course to achieve the best learning outcome. The Live Webinar is designed for operators who live outside the Wasatch front for whom travel is more difficult. Live Webinar participants should be fully engaged for the entirety of the course to assure the best learning outcome and ability to pass the exam.

Participants must pass the examination given at the end of the training to receive their micro-credential, which is valid for a period of five years. Participants who fail the exam can attend one future course free of charge and take the exam again.
