Salt Lake Community College Testing Services offers a variety of exams. Exams are offered at select locations. Please note which location you are scheduled to take your exam.

Certification Exams Offered

About the Exam: The CERTIPORT Exams are a Nationally recognized certification in various fields: IC3, Microsoft, Adobe, Intuit QuickBooks, Autodesk, and APPLE. Exam times range from sixty-five minutes to three hours. This exam requires an additional Testing Center fee.

Cost: All exams require an examinee to purchase a voucher.

Requirements: One form of physical valid government-issued photo identification. The Testing Center will provide everything necessary to test.

About the Exam: The Utah Nursing Assistant Registry (UNAR) is the body that certifies nursing assistants in the State of Utah. To be eligible to take the two required exams, an examinee must first complete a UNAR approved training program, pay for the two exams, have a current TMU account to pay, and schedule your exam. The Knowledge Exam is two hours long and the Skills Exam is forty-five minutes long.

Cost: The Knowledge Exam is $35.00, and the Skills Exam is $50.00.

Requirements: One form of physical valid government issued photo identification or a U.S. employer ID with first and last name or current school identification (high school/college/university). Name on appointment website must match ID exactly.

SCHEDULE EXAM

About the Exam: The ESCO Institute, a member of the ESCO Group, is the HVACR industry’s largest provider of EPA Section 608 certification testing. Some of the more common ESCO exams are EPA 608, EPA 609, Employment Ready, and Professional/Master/Educator level certifications. All exams are two hours long. This exam requires an additional Testing Center fee.

Cost: Exams vary in price and range from $10.00 to $50.00.

Requirements: One form of physical valid government-issued photo identification and a valid credit/debit card to purchase the test on the day of the test using the vendor’s testing website.

About the Exam: The Electronics Technician Association International, known as ETA, is a professional association that promotes excellence in electronics technologies through certification, such as FCC commercial radio operator exams, associate/apprentice electronics technician, avionics, biomedical, SmartHome, and others. Most exams are two to four hours long. This exam requires an additional Testing Center fee.

Cost: All exams require an examinee to purchase the exam fee first.

Requirements: One form of physical valid government-issued photo identification. The Testing Center will provide everything necessary to test.

GED Information

About the Exam: The International Society of Certified Electronics Technicians or ISCET is a nonprofit association of certified technicians, that assists students and experienced techs by offering training, education, and certification exams such as electronics technician, FCC, electronics systems, Multimedia Systems Technician, and NASTeC appliance Technician. Most exams are two to four hours long. This exam requires an additional Testing Center fee.

Cost: All exams require an examinee to purchase the exam fee first.

Requirements: One form of physical valid government-issued photo identification. The Testing Center will provide everything necessary to test. FCC exams require additional documentation and FCC registration to be completed prior to testing.

NATE exams are designed to certify you in specific knowledge areas of installation, service, and senior-level technician for HVACR systems. Testing costs start at $95.00.

SCHEDULE EXAM

About the Exam: The National Center for Competency Testing or NCCT is an independent credentialing organization that offers various healthcare exams, such as Medical Assistant, Medical Office Assistant, ECG Technician, Phlebotomy Technician, Tech in Surgery, Patient Care Technician, Certified Postsecondary Instructor, and Insurance and Coding Specialist exams. These exams are three to four hours long. This exam requires an additional Testing Center fee.

Cost: All exams require an examinee to fill out an application online, upload required documents, select testing site, date, and pay for the exam.

Requirements: Once an examinee has applied and paid for the exam, accepted to test, you must bring two forms of physical government-issued photo identification. The Testing Center will provide everything necessary to test.

Pay for Sitting Fee at South City

About the Exam: The National Police Officer Selection Test or NPOST is an exam specifically developed for law enforcement use and is a job-related test. It tests basic skills in four sections: Arithmetic, Reading Comprehension, Grammar, and Incident Report Writing. This exam is 1.5 hour long.

Cost: $35.00.

Requirements: One form of physical valid government-issued photo identification. The Testing Center will provide everything necessary to test.

SCHEDULE EXAM

About the Exam: The ParaPro Exam measures skills and knowledge in reading, math, and writing. This exam is a requirement in the State of Utah to be hired to assist a K-12 teacher in the classroom. This exam is 2.5 hours.

Cost:  $65.00 - $80.00.

Requirements: One form of physical valid government-issued photo identification. The Testing Center will provide everything necessary to test.

About the Exam: Pearson VUE offers computerized industry certification exams in various fields. To make an appointment, you must create a new user account, login select exam, select site, select time and date, and pay for exam or type in voucher number. The most widely proctored exams are CISCO, Amazon, Adobe, AUTODESK, CompTIA, Microsoft, and NES exams.

Cost: All exams require an appointment and payment or by calling customer service at 800-704-3613.

Requirements: One to two forms of physical valid government-issued photo identification. The Testing Center will provide everything necessary to test. There are a handful of exams that allow open book resources, which are allowed and inspected in the test.

About the Exam: All PSI True Talent exams are high-stakes U.S. employment tests in various fields: TSA, FBI, Border Patrol Agent, and others.

Cost: All exams require an appointment and payment or by calling PSI customer service at 800-733-9267.

Requirements: Depending on the type of exam, you may have to bring physical I-9 documents or one to two forms of physical U.S. government-issued photo identification. The Testing Center will provide everything necessary to test.

About the Exam: The State of Utah in conjunction with the Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing (DOPL) selected PROV as the test vendor platform to nest the required DOPL professional exams, such as cosmetology, Utah contractors license, electrical, plumbing, and others. Cost: List of exams offered in Utah (scroll down to Utah and click on arrow to expand).

Requirements: Depending on the type of exam, you may have to bring approved printed materials and one to two forms of physical U.S. government-issued photo identification or passport. The Testing Center will provide everything necessary to test besides any approved printed materials.

About the Exam: The Rocky Mountain Gas Association Natural Gas Certification Technician exam is a requirement in the State of Utah for all HVAC technicians to install or service gas burning equipment. The exam is four hours and ten minutes long. This exam requires an additional Testing Center fee.

Cost: A voucher of $100.00 must be paid first.

Requirements: One form of physical valid government-issued photo identification. The Testing Center will provide everything necessary to test.

About the Exam: The Salt Lake Technical College (SLTC) has one approved challenge exam to satisfy the Computer Concepts course. Course KAOS 0170 Computer Concepts exam consists of providing 80% proficiency in basic PC Windows functions and programs. This exam does not include MS Excel or Access and the examinee will be using a PC not a MAC. The exam is two-hours long. It can only be taken one time.

Cost: $50.00.

Requirements: One form of physical valid government-issued photo identification. The Testing Center will provide everything necessary to test.

About the Exam: Scantron, formerly Castle Worldwide, is a test platform company that provides a wide array of certification and licensure exams. Exam time varies from three to four hours long.

Cost: All exams require an appointment and payment or by calling customer service at 919-572-6880 or candidatesupport@scantron.com.

Requirements: One or two forms of physical valid government-issued photo identification. Name on appointment website must match ID exactly.

About the Exam: Typing and ten-key exams are offered for both Salt Lake Community College School of Applied Technology (SAT) prospective students and community members. SAT prospective students will need a score in either or both exams as pre-requisite to a particular SAT program. Each exam is a five-minute time exam.

Cost: First time is free to pre-enrolled Salt Lake Community College students and $15.00 to community members.

Requirements: One form of physical valid government-issued photo identification. The Testing Center will provide everything necessary to test.

About the Exam: Various licensing exams (commercial, non-commercial, and private) are available.

Cost: $25 per exam payable at time appointment is made. (Note: UDAF charges a separate application fee of $65, which must be paid before making a testing appointment).
