Alternative Break
Alternative Break is a high-involvement, immersive, and multiday program held in the Thayne Center at Salt Lake Community College. During fall and spring breaks, students have the opportunity for hands-on service, education, dialogue, and reflection. Participants gain the tools and experience to be effective leaders through community engagement.
Through collaborative experiential learning trips in Utah and domestically within the United States, groups of students—led by peer leaders and supported by site advisors—work alongside community partners to assist with projects addressing various social issues. The program fosters a deeper understanding of these issues and promotes a lifelong commitment to community engagement.
