We know that paying for college can be a big worry for many students and their families. That's why we've put together a bunch of resources to help you navigate the various aspects of financial planning for college.

Our goal is to give you the knowledge and tools to make smart choices about paying for your education and learning important money skills for life. We believe that being financially secure is an important part of your college journey, and we're here to help you at every stage.

Campus Resources

  • Basic Needs Coordinator
    • The Basic Needs Coordinator supports students' access to basic needs including nutritious food, stable housing, and access to adequate technology. 
  • Bruin Pantries
    • Our Bruin Pantries at our Taylorsville Redwood, South City, Jordan, and West Valley campuses provide free food, hygiene items, and other resources to students, faculty, and staff in need. 
  • Career Services
    • Career Services is your gateway to personalized job and internship opportunities, including on-campus work, designed to match your needs and schedule. They offer expert guidance in resume and cover letter preparation, along with interview practice for that competitive edge. Don't miss their programming schedule featuring job fairs and networking events to connect you with top employers. Explore their Career Boutique for complimentary professional clothing, shoes, and accessories, perfect for interviews, career fairs, or your first workday. Discover a wealth of resources available through Career Services, empowering you to excel in your chosen field.
  • Center for Health & Counseling
    • The Center for Health & Counseling offers health and mental health services at an affordable rate at our Taylorsville Redwood, South City, and Jordan campuses. Services are easily accessible to all students regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, or socioeconomic status. Students experiencing financial hardships may apply for a fee waiver program which will assist with medical and counseling appointment fees. Ask their front desk receptionists for more information.   • Financial Aid & Scholarships (OFAS)
    • OFAS is here to assist you through the financial aid process. Whether you need help completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or have questions about different options to pay for school, OFAS is here to help. 
  • Tuition Payment Plan
    • Tuition Payment Plans allow you to budget by spreading your payment of tuition and fee costs more effectively throughout the semester with fixed monthly payments. There is a $30 enrollment fee.   • Community Resource Guide 7-1-23
    • Extensive guide on resources available in the Salt Lake Valley for Housing, Food, Employment, Medical, Clothing, and much more.

Financial Literacy

  • Banzai
    • Banzai.org is an online financial literacy platform designed to teach students and individuals essential money management skills through interactive, real-life simulations and resources. It provides hands-on experiences and educational materials to help users make informed financial decisions and improve their financial well-being.
  • Cash Course
    • Complete financial literacy coursework and take advantage of a suite of financial tools.
  • FinAid
    • Information on financial aid for college and tips on how to help ease the burden of college expenses.
  • Financial Avenue
    • Free Financial Literacy service offered through the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships. 
  • Investmate
    • For students looking to level up their financial literacy beyond basic saving and spending, Investmate teaches trading to beginners. The app provides courses, strategy tips, quizzes, term definitions, and other resources. The app also has a stock market simulator, which gives students the opportunity to demo buying and selling shares of different products.
  • World of Money
    • World of Money is a video application that teaches financial literacy on topics ranging from the history of money to budgeting to credit card use. This free app includes three-minute course videos accompanied by quizzes to demonstrate your mastery of the content. The app also has flashcards to teach financial concepts.
  • Zogo
    • Covering a wide range of financial topics, the Zogo app incentivizes you to keep learning by giving cash rewards. Download the app, create an account, and play through bite-sized educational modules on topics including credit scores, investing, and basic financial skills. Students earn credits, called pineapples, and can cash them out for gift cards or donate to a charitable cause.
